Bring it on…I can’t wait!

The wedding season is no longer limited to just 3 or 4 months over summer. January was the only month where I didn’t have a wedding to shoot, so it’s pretty much an all year round affair these days. I actually shot 3 during February but then followed a few weeks gap until the season really kicks off for me on Friday 27th March with the wedding of Gemma & Phil then onto another 31 couples who’ve booked me to photograph their big day.

Photographing a wedding is hard, physical work, especially the way I work as I’m literally all over the place. In preparation for this season I’ve been getting myself in better physical shape by running 40-50km a week, losing over 1 stone in weight in the process. I owe it to my couples to be in the best possible condition both physically and mentally, a lot of people are counting on me to deliver and I take my responsibilities incredibly seriously.

Over the course of the year please keep an eye out for my blog posts, I’ll be blogging every wedding to give people a flavour of my documentary shooting style. Plus the blog posts are a nice way for my couples to share their wedding photos with family and friends.

There are almost too many exciting things to mention but I’ll give it a go! I’m shooting a Tottenham Hotspur themed wedding in July, a traditional Chinese wedding in October, I also have my first same-sex wedding as well as photographing the conversion of a civil ceremony to a marriage. And then there’s the wedding where the family dog is involved as the ring-bearer (complete with little dog suit). I can’t wait!

On top of all this I’ll also be doing more work for the 2 charities that I support as part of my business, these are Gift of a Wedding and Chance For Childhood. I’ve already volunteered my services for free to Gift of a Wedding and I’ll be helping the terminally ill people that they support over the coming year – you can read one of my previous blog posts about the charity here. I also donate a percentage of my profits to Chance For Childhood, so when you book me to shoot your wedding you are also contributing towards this wonderful charity. You can read more about them here.
