Weddings at the Out Barn in Clitheroe
As a Manchester-based wedding photographer, I’m fortunate enough to photograph Out Barn weddings on a regular basis, with the venue being less than an hour’s drive from my home.
The venue itself is a beautifully restored barn set against the backdrop of the Ribble Valley hills. The restoration has maintained the traditional character with a nod to more modern design elements.
During a recent wedding at The Out Barn, I commented to the bride and groom (who lived in Sweden) that the ceremony and wedding breakfast area was very Scandinavian in design – the high ceilings, wooden beams, and large windows create an airy atmosphere, allowing natural light to flood inside.
Indoor and outdoor ceremonies
The versatile ceremony area is also used for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. It has a seating capacity of 60 – 150, with an average guest count of 80. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies and receptions.
There is room for an additional 100 guests in the evening (amounting to 250 guests in total), for drinks and dancing.
Accommodation at The Out Barn and surrounding areas
The Old Dairy is included in the venue hire package for the couple and is only a short stroll away from The Out Barn. This traditional stone built cottage features open plan living with an en-suite master bedroom.
Regarding accommodation for your guests, one of the standout features of Out Barn weddings is the close proximity to various accommodation options.
Couples can arrange for their guests to stay in nearby hotels, bed and breakfasts, or charming countryside cottages, ensuring everyone has a comfortable place to rest after the celebrations. For those looking for a more immersive experience, there are also options nearby for glamping, allowing guests to enjoy the great outdoors while still having access to modern amenities.
