Winner of the Event Photography Awards 2023

Steve Grogan – Event Photography Awards Winner 2023 – Wow!

Yesterday evening I had the privilege of attending the prestigious Off to Work Event Photography Awards at the beautiful RIBA headquarters in Westminster, London. AND I WON!

This year’s edition of the not-for-profit competition attracted a record number of entries – more than 1,700 images from nearly 200 photographers worldwide.

Back in 2019, I was a winner in the Wedding Category but this year I was completely overwhelmed to win the overall competition with this intimate image of a bride breast-feeding her baby while in turn being fed by her sister.

The photo was taken in December 2022 at the stunning Eaves Hall in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

Three trophies and a cheque for £1000!

In addition to being named the Event Photography Awards Winner 2023, I was gobsmacked to also win the Wedding Category and the People’s Choice Award – both for the same image above.

All in all, it was an unforgettable experience to walk away with three trophies and the winner’s cheque for £1000 – I got a few odd looks on the train back home to Manchester carrying my massive novelty cheque!

Thank you to my family and friends for being so supportive since I took the leap of faith to be a full time photographer almost nine years ago.
