Event Photography Awards 2016 – Finalist
Earlier today I received the wonderful news that 2 of my wedding images have made the final shortlist of 5 in the Wedding Photography category at the annual Event Photography Awards. The awards ceremony is to be held at the historic Church House in Westminster, right in the heart of London on the 27th April.
I’ve been told that competition was fierce with triple the number of entries from last year, and submissions were received from across the world. So it’s fair to say that I’m both thrilled and gobsmacked to hear that 2 of my images have made the top 5. Here are the 2 images that the panel of judges selected to be among the shortlist of 5 for the final:
1) “Catching the Bouquet” – Taken on 27th December 2015 at Didsbury House Hotel in Manchester.

2) “The Bride’s Speech” – Taken on 22nd August 2015 at Gorton Monastery in Manchester.
I’m very much looking forward to attending the awards ceremony and meeting the other photographers who made the shortlist, on the night all the shortlisted images will be on display with the panel of judges announcing the overall winner in each category. I’m up against some wonderful photographers but even if I don’t win I’m still deeply humbled to have my work deemed worthy enough to make the final.
You can see all the shortlisted images in each category here.
I must thank my family & friends for the ongoing support and encouragement, but most of all I’d like to thank Allanah & James and Kat & Ste whose weddings I was photographing when I captured these 2 moments. Without you booking me and trusting me to do my thing I wouldn’t be in this position. Thank you.
Right then, I suppose I’d better go shopping for a new suit!
Peace is free

Hi Liz, thank you very much, it’s one of my favourite wedding photos of a great moment. I’ve sent you an email regarding a print. 🙂
