Beautiful Wedding in the Tuscan Countryside
I first met Katy and Tom when I was photographing Charlotte and Alex’s wedding in Surrey last summer. They were guests and not long after they got in touch to ask if I would be their photographer for their Villa Catignano wedding in Siena, Tuscany.
Naturally I said yes as I adore Italy and I knew it was going to be an absolutely incredible wedding.
Villa Catignano Wedding in Siena, Italy
Villa Catignano is a magnificent 17th century villa nestled in the heart of the winemaking region of Chianti around 10km north east of Siena, the villa is set within 600 acres of stunning vineyards and olive groves.
Katy and Tom had 85 guests fly in for the weekend from as far flung places as Johannesburg and New York City and the villa was able to accommodate all of the guests.
The wedding ceremony itself took place at the beautiful church of Certosa before everyone headed back to the villa for the wedding breakfast and a truly incredible wedding party with one of the best wedding bands I’ve ever witnessed.
It really was a fabulous occasion from start to finish and it gives me immense pleasure to present some of the highlights. Enjoy!
Supplier shout out
Easily the best wedding band I’ve ever seen – The Gloves Dancing Orchestra were absolutely unbelievable, it really is so difficult to put into words how amazing they are. So a huge high five to them, it was a real pleasure to experience their performance and I hope the photos do the evening some justice.
Huge credit must also go to the staff at Villa Catignano and the catering team who made sure everyone was fed and watered throughout with beautiful food and wine.
Thanks to the wonderful Lauren Jo Kelly for being my friend, travel companion and the best assistant/second shooter ever. Love you!
And finally, huge thanks to the priest who conducted the wedding ceremony at the church. He was a legend.
Katy & Tom – My heartfelt thanks for having me and Lauren along for the ride. Even though we were working for you, you made us both feel like guests and I cannot thank you enough for your warmth and hospitality.
I also wish to thank both sets of families and friends for being so welcoming and incredible fun. You guys know how to party!
