Sophie & Brad’s Victoria Warehouse Wedding
I absolutely love Victoria Warehouse! The place is unlike any other venue around and is a true piece of northern industrial history that has been lovingly preserved to bring it into the modern era. It’s the kind of space that is perfect for those cool couples who want their day to be free from many of the dated traditions that still cling to weddings. Sure, it’s not for everyone but that is part of the appeal of a Victoria Warehouse wedding.
World Cup Quarter Final Day – England v Sweden
I was watching the England v Colombia last 16 game with my mate in my local pub when it dawned on me that if England were to win that night, their next game would be on Saturday 7th July, the exact same date as Sophie & Brad’s wedding.
As you know, England did go on to beat Colombia and I recall nursing a hangover the next day and receiving an email from Sophie advising that they’d decided to embrace the occasion and would be showing the England game live on several big screens throughout Victoria Warehouse.
Of course, not everybody likes football, but the World Cup is only every 4 years and England hadn’t been this far in the tournament since 1990. The nation was gripped.
I thought it was fantastic that Sophie & Brad made the decision to incorporate the game into their wedding day schedule at such short notice. It didn’t actually clash with their ceremony, so those guests who wanted to could watch the game during the drinks reception. It was a brilliant occasion and certainly made the day ever the more memorable with England winning.
The sun shone, England won and there was a party to end all parties!
The entire day was a belter. Glorious sunshine from start to finish and a relaxed, fun-loving couple who were keen to make their wedding day a huge party for all of their friends and family.
Sit back and enjoy some of the highlights from a truly memorable summer day!
