Steve & Laura’s sneak peek
Here’s a sneak peek from Steve & Laura’s wonderful wedding at The Place Aparthotel, a Grade II listed building right in the heart of Manchester city centre. Steve has a terminal illness and the wedding was arranged with the help of UK charity Gift of a Wedding and a host of suppliers within the wedding industry who kindly donated their time, goods and services.
I only live a 20 minutes drive away from the centre of Manchester, and it’s always great to shoot a wedding right in the heart of a city I’ve called home for all of my life. The Place is a former railway warehouse and is quite simply an awesome building; it was awarded Grade II listed status by the English Heritage in 1998, in acknowledgement of its cultural and architectural importance. It was built in 1867 during the peak of Manchester’s prominence as the world’s number one centre for the cloth trade. The building is the only remaining of four warehouses erected by the Manchester & Birmingham Railway Company and was originally known as the London Warehouse.
Here’s a small selection of photographs from Steve & Laura’s special day which started at Steve’s friend’s home in Hyde, Cheshire and involved Champagne, sausage sandwiches and a pre-wedding dog walk!
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Steve & Laura’s day. I’ll post a more comprehensive collection of photos on my blog once I’ve finished the editing & post production work. In the meantime I hope you enjoy this little taster of the day!
You can also watch a preview film from the day created by the very talented Cath at CPD Film:
