Luxurious Merrydale Manor Weddings in Cheshire

Weddings at Merrydale Manor are always a delight. The manor is a breathtaking and exclusive-use wedding venue located within several acres of Cheshire countryside in the village of Over Peover, near Knutsford.

As a Manchester-based wedding photographer, I’m only a forty minute drive or so away from this stunning venue and I’ve been privileged enough to have worked here on several occasions over the years.

The experienced staff are very welcoming and have to be some of the most friendly and attentive in the wedding industry. Never underestimate how much of a positive impact good staff can have on your wedding.

Merrydale Manor is located within the Cheshire countryside in the village of Over Peover, down the road from Knutsford and within easy reach of neighbouring Cheshire villages, Manchester, Chester and Liverpool.

Guests traveling by car have access to plenty of free parking onsite, plus local taxi firms are on hand to ferry any guests staying offsite to their accommodation.

Is there accommodation on-site?

Indeed there is, the estate has accommodation for up to 38 guests within the Manor House, Courtyard Rooms and Woodland Eco Lodges.

There is also a wide variety of hotels and bed and breakfast style accommodation within the area surrounding Merrydale Manor.

Additionally, within the grounds there are two fantastic & spacious areas for you and your partner to get ready on the morning of the wedding. This consists of a make up room within the manor itself and a games room style dressing area near to the ceremony hall.

Are Merrydale Manor weddings dog friendly?

Yes, Merrydale Manor welcomes dogs. And as you may have already guessed, I absolutely adore dogs.

Last year, I published a Dogs at Weddings blog on my website so please do head over and have a nosey if you want to see some super-cute photos of dogs enjoying themselves at weddings.

Over the last few years, several dog chaperone services have popped up to provide for couples who want their dogs as wedding guests. They will look after your pup for the duration of your day and bring them along after your ceremony for a few photos with you and your guests. Many will provide overnight lodging too.

As with all dog friendly wedding venues, please reach out to the Merrydale Manor staff beforehand to ensure you are aware of which parts of the venue are safe for dogs and which are out of bounds.

Wedding Photography at Merrydale Manor

I love Merrydale Manor, it’s such a beautiful place with brilliant staff. It’s comfortably one of my personal favourite wedding venues in the UK.

The venue is only ever hired on an exclusive basis, so you and your guests have the entire estate to yourselves.

The ceremony area can accommodate up to 200 people, so there’s ample room if you have a guest list on the larger side. Additionally, 200 guests can be catered for during the wedding breakfast and 220 at the evening celebrations.

Since I started my business, I’ve always wanted my couples to look back on their wedding photographs and remember how they felt at the time, not what the photographer was telling them to do.

With that in mind, I recommend around fifteen minutes on the day for some photos of just the two of you, plus I’ll always take some formal group photos if desired. But other than that, I won’t take you away for hours so that you miss all the fun.

I want you to spend your day with your family and friends, just as it should be – your wedding really shouldn’t be one long pose-fest!
