A Guide to Manchester Wedding Venues for 2027
Manchester city centre weddings have surged in popularity over the years, no longer does your wedding have to be in a local church or a traditional stately home in the countryside. If you and your partner feel more at home in an urban environment, then there is a wide variety of beautiful, historic and eclectic Manchester Wedding Venues for your big day.
As a Manchester wedding photographer, I’ve been privileged enough to have worked at some of the most wonderful venues far and wide. I know Manchester like the back of my hand, I was born in St.Mary’s hospital on Oxford Road just a short stroll from the city centre and it always feels extra special to be photographing a wedding in my home city.

Manchester Wedding Venues
Seeing as I’ve lived in Manchester all my life and have spent the last ten plus years as a full-time wedding photographer, I feel I’m well placed to present my guide to some of the very best wedding venues located in Manchester.
With that in mind, below is a selection of some of my personal favourite Manchester city centre wedding venues.
Ducie Street Warehouse
Ducie Street Warehouse sells itself as Manchester’s social hub, where you can do anything and be anything – it also happens to be one of the coolest wedding venues in the area.
It was built way back in 1867 during the cotton production boom that Manchester is famous for. Cotton bails were stored here upon arrival from America, before making their way to various other mills across via the UK canal network.
The warehouse is a vibrant hub that embodies Manchester’s rich industrial heritage with a nod to contemporary culture. It has been transformed into a dynamic space that houses a variety of businesses from creative studios to trendy eateries.
Located within the wider Ducie Street area, which has seen significant regeneration, alongside weddings it also hosts events, exhibitions and markets – promoting local talent and fostering connections within the creative community.
Ducie Street Warehouse retains a huge amount of its original features such as huge vaulted ceilings, riveted wrought-iron girders and exposed brickwork. The place has so much character and charm, you really need to pay a visit yourself and have a nosey around.
Victoria Warehouse
This is definitely the type of venue that can be described as ‘unconventional’ – Victoria Warehouse definitely isn’t for everyone, but that’s something that the venue are more than happy to use as a selling point.
It’s a very industrial and gritty building, with none of the traditionally aesthetically pretty spaces that many people associate with wedding venues, but I absolutely love it because it attracts the types of couples that I want to work with – the laid back, party animals.
Located within the Old Trafford area, Victoria Warehouse showcases the city’s rich industrial past while serving as a versatile space for modern events. Originally built in 1893 as a storage facility for cotton and textiles, the warehouse has been restored to maintain its unique character, featuring exposed brick walls and large open spaces.
Today, Victoria Warehouse is renowned for hosting a variety of events, from concerts and festivals to corporate functions and weddings. Its impressive size and layout make it an ideal choice for both smaller gatherings and large-scale events. The venue also boasts a vibrant atmosphere, often complemented by art installations and creative decor.
I’ve photographed several Victoria Warehouse weddings over the years and it has always been one of my absolute favourite venues.
Manchester Hall
Manchester Hall, a historic venue located in the heart of Manchester, is a stunning architectural gem. Originally built in 1926 as the Freemasons’ Hall, this elegant building features intricate detailing and grand interiors, making it a remarkable example of neoclassical design.
After extensive renovations, Manchester Hall has been transformed into a versatile event space, catering to a variety of functions, including weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings. Its opulent rooms, such as the magnificent ballroom and intimate meeting spaces, provide the perfect backdrop for any occasion.
In addition to hosting events, Manchester Hall serves as a cultural hub, promoting community engagement and local initiatives. Its central location makes it easily accessible, attracting both locals and visitors. With its blend of historical significance and modern functionality, Manchester Hall stands as a symbol of the city’s vibrant past and dynamic future, enriching Manchester’s cultural landscape.
Manchester Art Gallery
I adore Manchester Art Gallery. It’s a place I’ve been visiting since I was a child whilst studying for my Art & Design GCSE and A Levels, so it holds a very special place in my heart.
Located on Mosley Street, just a short walk from Piccadilly Gardens, the building itself opened almost 200 years ago in 1835 as the Manchester School of Design which later become the Manchester School of Art.
The gallery as we now know it opened in 1883, providing free entry for all which it still does to this day.
Manchester Art Gallery is unquestionably one of the most unique and quirky places to hold your wedding. With a variety of beautiful spaces and surrounded by world-renowned art, the gallery can accommodate everything from intimate ceremonies to larger celebrations of up to 120 guests.
The Edwardian Hotel
This is definitely one for all the music lovers out there. The Edwardian Hotel on Peter Street was formerly known as The Free Trade Hall, it hosted bands and musicians such as The Who, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney, Elton John and AC/DC.
These days, the hotel, situated in the heart of Manchester, is a stylish and contemporary establishment that combines modern luxury with classic charm. Housed in a beautifully restored Edwardian building, the hotel features elegant architecture and sophisticated interiors that are perfect for a cool city centre wedding.
Conveniently located near key attractions such as the Manchester Art Gallery and the bustling shopping district, The Edwardian Hotel provides easy access to the city’s vibrant culture and nightlife. With its blend of comfort, style, and prime location, The Edwardian Hotel stands out as an ideal choice for those looking to experience the best of Manchester.
Didsbury House Hotel
The gorgeous Didsbury House Hotel may not technically be in the centre (located a couple of miles away in South Manchester), but it is nonetheless worthy of inclusion in my blog post about Manchester city centre weddings.
Didsbury House Hotel is a beautifully restored Victorian period villa that offers a unique blend of historic elegance and modern comfort. Originally built in the 19th century, the hotel features stunning architecture, including incredible stained glass windows and ornate detailing, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The hotel is a super-chic wedding venue with luxurious amenities including plush furnishings, free Wi-Fi, and a delightful complimentary breakfast.
Surrounded by picturesque gardens and located near the vibrant Didsbury village, the hotel is in close proximity to charming shops, restaurants, and parks. Didsbury House Hotel not only offers a comfortable stay but also immerses visitors in the enchanting charm of one of Manchester’s most desirable neighborhoods.
The Deaf Institute
One of the coolest music and entertainment venues in Manchester, the Deaf Institute is a historical gem, a building with a rich past dating back to 1878 when it was originally known as The Deaf and Dumb* Institute. *I must reiterate that ‘Deaf and Dumb’ is no longer an acceptable phrase, and its use here relates only to its historical context.
The building itself lay idle for many years before new life was breathed into this iconic space in 2008. You’ll find the Deaf Institute conveniently tucked away near the bustling Oxford Road, right at the heart of the vibrant Manchester Metropolitan University Campus.
The venue hosts live music and events all year round but can be hired privately for weddings and other functions. I photographed a wedding celebration party here in August 2025 and it is comfortably one of my favourite spaces to party the night away!
The Lowry Theatre
Before you all start shouting at me, I know the Lowry Theatre isn’t actually in Manchester at all. It’s in Salford, an entirely different city in its own right. But I’m including it in this blog post because the two cities are geographically side by side and historically linked.
The Lowry is a theatre and gallery complex in Salford Quays, Salford, Greater Manchester. It is named after the early 20th-century painter L. S. Lowry, famously known for his gritty paintings of industrial scenes in North West England. It opened in the year 2000 in a ceremony hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
You can hire parts of the venue for your ceremony and enjoy panoramic views over the Quays for your wedding breakfast and evening party.
Salford Lads’ Club
I know, I know, another wedding venue that isn’t technically in Manchester, but rather Salford. Salford Lads’ Club in Ordsall is more than worthy of inclusion due to the historic cultural links between the two cities.
The club, on the corner of St. Ignatius Walk and Coronation Street, was established in 1903 as purpose-built club for boys, but today welcomes girls too and organises many activities including sports, creative and cultural exhibitions.
The building gained listed status in 2003 as its tiled interior is virtually unchanged with original fittings. Inside there is a boxing ring, snooker room and a gym with a viewing balcony. The building is thought to be the most complete example of this rare form of social provision to survive in the UK.
The club also attracts global visitors for tours on dedicated open days, mainly due to links with Manchester band The Smiths. Famously, the building was used as a backdrop photo for the sleeve of the album The Queen Is Dead.
King Street Townhouse
King Street Townhouse, located on King Street (of course!), is a luxurious boutique hotel that seamlessly blends contemporary design with historic charm.
As well as hosting weddings with evening parties on the rooftop terrace, the hotel offers a range of beautifully appointed rooms and suites, each designed with comfort and sophistication in mind. Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities, including an infinity pool that offers stunning views of the city skyline, a well-equipped gym, and a cozy lounge area perfect for relaxation.
King Street Townhouse is also renowned for its exceptional dining options, featuring a restaurant that serves seasonal dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Its prime location puts guests within walking distance of Manchester’s vibrant shopping, dining, and cultural attractions, making it an ideal base for both leisure and business travelers seeking an unforgettable experience in the city.

The Midland Hotel
The Midland Hotel in Manchester is a quintessential venue for weddings, offering a blend of historic elegance and modern luxury. Established in 1903, this iconic hotel features stunning architecture and opulent interiors, making it a picturesque backdrop for couples on their wedding day.
The hotel boasts a variety of beautifully appointed event spaces, including the grand Alexandra Suite, which can accommodate large weddings, and intimate rooms for smaller ceremonies. Each space is adorned with exquisite décor and offers state-of-the-art facilities.

With its central location, luxurious accommodations, and outstanding service, The Midland Hotel is an exceptional choice for couples looking to create unforgettable memories on their wedding day in Manchester City centre.
Manchester Town Hall
I debated for a while whether or not to include Manchester Town Hall within this blog, purely because it is currently closed for extensive refurbishment and not expected to re-open until the summer of 2027.
City centre weddings at Manchester Town Hall offer a truly enchanting setting for couples looking to celebrate their special day in a historic and iconic venue. This stunning Gothic Revival building, completed in 1877, features breathtaking architecture, including intricate stone carvings and majestic clock towers, providing a picturesque backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

These spaces can accommodate both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, making it a versatile choice for various wedding styles.
Couples can take advantage of the venue’s central location, providing easy access for guests to explore Manchester’s vibrant culture and attractions. The Fountain House
Weddings at The Fountain House in Manchester offer couples oodles of historic charm right in the heart of the city centre. Set within the iconic Grade II-listed Memorial Hall on Albert Square, this venue provides a stunning architectural backdrop for your wedding day, with views overlooking Manchester Town Hall.
The Fountain House is fully licensed for wedding ceremonies, meaning you can say your vows and party into the night all in one place. Its versatile private banquet hall can accommodate celebrations of up to around 180 guests and for more intimate affairs, the Thomas Worthington Suite offers an exclusive setting for smaller weddings.

Castlefield Rooms
The Castlefield Rooms, located in the Castlefield district of Manchester, is an exceptional venue for weddings, offering a unique blend of modern elegance and historic charm. Housed within a beautifully restored Victorian warehouse, the venue features exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and large windows, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for couples and their guests.
With versatile spaces that can accommodate intimate ceremonies and larger celebrations, Castlefield Rooms is ideal for various wedding styles. The venue’s dedicated event team works closely with couples to bring their vision to life, offering personalized packages that include catering, décor, and entertainment options.
The outdoor terrace provides a stunning setting for outdoor ceremonies or al fresco receptions, overlooking the scenic canal. With its convenient location near Manchester city center, guests can easily explore the vibrant surroundings. Castlefield Rooms offers a memorable and enchanting backdrop for couples looking to celebrate their love in a truly special way.
Fairfield Social Club
Located just 5 minutes from Manchester Victoria Train Station and Shudehill, Fairfield Social Club is a beautifully gritty venue buried within the industrial railway arches of the Green Quarter, an area steeped in Manchester’s rich history.
Fairfield Social Club is fully licensed for civil marriage ceremonies, meaning you can hold both your ceremony and reception in one setting without the need to move between locations. Couples can choose from a variety of spaces within the club: the main club area offers an industrial warehouse-style atmosphere perfect for larger celebrations; the Shed and the Back Room provide more intimate environments, creates a beautiful outdoor backdrop for your wedding vows or drinks receptions.
One of the biggest draws of Fairfield Social Club is its adaptability. Whether you’re planning a smaller gathering of around 50 guests or a larger celebration for up to 500 guests, the venue accommodates a wide range of wedding sizes and formats.
