A Spectacular Hargate Hall Wedding Party in the Peak District!

This was my first time photographing at Hargate Hall and it’s safe to day that it is now high on the list of my absolute favourite wedding venues. Melissa & Jon’s Hargate Hall wedding was set deep in the heart of Buxton in the Peak District. The whole day was billed as ‘A Party in the Peaks’ with a relaxed, festival vibe throughout.

Music Festival Wedding in Buxton

The newlyweds are huge music lovers and regularly attend music festivals together. Melissa’s dad was telling me that he first took his daughter to watch live music when she was just ten years old, introducing her to the likes of Van Morrison, Iggy Pop and Neil Young.

Naturally, music played a big part in this Hargate Hall wedding with the superb Michael Giorgiades playing ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles as Melissa walked down the aisle and the excellent Kings of the Dancefloor blasting out a couple of sets late into the evening. Melissa’s dad even had his own DJ slot whilst the band took a break. As you can see from the sweaty dance floor pictures, it was quite simply one of the liveliest evening parties I’ve ever photographed!

Here are a few highlights from an amazing day.

Thank you

My heartfelt thanks go to Melissa and Jon for having me along for the ride, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph your Wedfest! I had a ball mingling with your family and friends.

As well as the musicians mentioned at the top of this blog post, a big shout out goes to the other suppliers who made the day such a blast. Vanilla in All Seasons provided the beautiful catering during the day with Maxine’s Mobile Pizza feeding everyone in the evening. I have to say, Maxine made me one of the nicest pizzas I’ve ever had. It was also great to work alongside Sam Mercer of The Dollz wedding hair and make-up team, they were amazing as ever.

2018 almost half full

My schedule for next year is already 45% booked-up, so if you’re looking for a wedding photographer please get in touch as soon as possible to secure your date.

What is documentary wedding photography?

Aside from a few group shots of your nearest and dearest, I’ll photograph your day completely naturally. No silly poses, fake smiles, dated cliches or standing around for ages while the photographer interferes with your day. I listen and watch out for the real moments that occur and present them to you as they really happened, leaving you free to party with your guests.

Thanks as ever for all your support

Peace is free

Steve xx
