A brilliant barn wedding topped off with a rainbow!
Bethany and Dave’s amazing Ashes Barns wedding was a prime example as to why you really shouldn’t spend any time worrying about what the weather will be like on your wedding day. When I arrived for the bridal preparations in the morning it was cloudy and overcast, then the sun came out for a bit, then it rained heavily, followed by a little more sun, then it rained again for most of the afternoon. You get the picture!
I always remind my couples that whatever the weather throws at them on the day, I’ll be photographing it anyway. Rain, sleet & snow really don’t bother me or my camera equipment one bit. Some of my personal favourite wedding photographs have been taken in “bad weather” conditions. And besides, rain and sunshine together means there’s always the chance of a rainbow.
A few weeks before Bethany and Dave’s wedding I photographed Chris and Jamie’s wedding at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Lancashire. Chris and Jamie are close friends of Bethany and Dave and many of the same group of friends were to be in attendance so I was really looking forward to photographing the day as I knew what a cool bunch of people they were.
They know how to throw a party!
Bethany and Dave have since sent me a thank you card and a case of beers which was so nice of them, the words inside the card made me well up, I’m a bloody soft bugger.
“We honestly couldn’t thank you enough! You made us feel so at ease and all of our guests commented on how amazing they thought you were. Not only are you a brilliant photographer, but you’re so much fun. Thank you!”
Thank you so much to Bethany and Dave for booking me to photograph your Ashes Barns wedding. It was a brilliant day. A shout out must go to the staff at The Ashes Barns for being so welcoming and attentive.
If you’re getting married and are on the lookout for a documentary style wedding photographer then get in touch, I’d love to hear from you and have a chat about your day.
Peace is free
